I DO BUSINESS STUFF.
Conceive. Create. Cultivate.
Through consults and ventures I design, build and repair commercial enterprises—'Business Development' (think 'property development', but different). Instead of working with buildings, I do businesses. Start new ones. Improve existing ones. Fix broken ones. Knock bits off. Add things on. Change stuff around. Make-mend-improve. Build.
Specifically… I provide strategic guidance & practical support during key phases of startup, planned expansion and 'simply want a better op' times. I also handle shit-and-fan situations.
Additionally, I birth new enterprise by sourcing & co-ordinating the concept, the people and the money. When able, I fund.
Much of day-to-day activity involves 'head stuff' like advising-on and developing strategy, structure, branding, marketing, management, personnel, investment, research, etcetera; that kind of thing. And a lot of stuff too dull to mention. I also cover the hands-on practical issues concomitant with my recommendation and deliver the stuff I suggest. Somebody said 'provide solutions'. Maybe they're right.
Based in England, I work internationally.
'Ask. Listen. Guide.'
"So g… let me see if I got this straight… you talk to people about business and they pay you money?" Almost. Not quite.
In my consults I have conversations with people about their business. We speak about what they're doing and how things are going… problems… opportunities… what they want to do etcetera… and I suggest ways to improve things. Then, if invited, I make sure what needs to be done, is.
I provide a variety of on-demand and pre-planned task-oriented and time-based options—and although I'd rather longer-term association, my time is available in units as small as fifteen minutes.
All together now…
In my venture work I thrive on 'just an idea at the moment' start-ups—where I'll develop complete ready-to-go turn-key operations.
'Pool lunch money… stay up late scribblin' on the back of envelopes… start a capitalist-enterprise-action-thing…' I team with appropriate others who can recognise an opportunity, respect the associated risk'n'reward and bring appropriate resources of concept/talent/money and determination to 'make things happen'.
'Mine or yours…?' I usually have a few specific venture projects in development and am open to approaches from prospective partners and associates with stuff of their own to develop or resources to deploy. If you're interested in this kind of thing, perhaps we should speak.
The gang's all here/there.
Clearly I don't do this all stuff alone.
My key expertise and experience is strategy—the what-how-why 'needs to be done' stuff. It's to this I stick. 'Tell me where it hurts and I'll tell you who to call…' my role is to advise and project-manage, sourcing and co-ordinating appropriate specialist help.
I have good contacts; 'the network of trusted associates'… talented, experienced individuals and organisations who know their stuff and do it from 'wherever they be dotted around the globe'. Strategists, researchers, marketers, sales teams, lawyers, moneymen, designers, writers, 'media types', etcetera. With modern tech, they're literally just seconds away. Flexible and highly effective, it's a great way to work.
