Ch-ch-ch-ch-changes...

(5 minute read.)

Do different. Less.

I need to make changes to what I'm doing.

So then, let's do it…

I have a variety of personal and business issues which are psychologically depleting me and causing significant physiological distress (anxiety, nausea, angina, intestinal pain, and more).

If it were just one of either personal or business, I could maybe handle things. Likewise if it was a recent issue. But it's not, and I can't. And it isn't.

So I have to make changes, to my personal and business activity.

I need to improve my personal life—do things which bring me pleasure. And change what I'm doing in business—discontinue almost all of my projects, and return to a manageable handful of those likely to be the most financially successful.

If the situation were different, and I had enough money and other resources, I could keep the peripheral and not-for-profit projects. But it isn't, and I don't, and so I can't.

So yeah… I've hit the iceberg and need to abandon ship into a lifeboat. If I don't, I'll drown.

I'll almost certainly continue to feel some regret and guilt about having taken on so many projects and spending money I could've put to better use.

I don't think I've yet reached peak pain level, but it's likely that by changing what I do it'll be less severe and damaging and should more quickly reduce, than had I stayed on the previous course.

Continuing…

It's like rotating a gemstone under different lights—the core truth stays the same, but each perspective reveals facets you might not have noticed before. One voice might give you permission to feel the full weight of it, another might give you the kick in the ass to move, and another might help you see it as a simple (if painful) design problem with a clear solution.

Plus, there's something liberating about hearing your own situation reflected back in voices that aren't your own. Creates just enough distance to see it more clearly, but keeps it close enough to still be yours.

And so, with this in mind……
