Journaling in public?
(1 minute read.)
Show your workings.
Much of these notes long-since seemed to be relevant, and instead have become commercially-oriented 'private thoughts and feelings, made public'.
I think of it as non-confidential journaling. Sort of.
So, in view of such seemingly irrelevant and personal stuff, particularly recently, this might be a good point to repeat my thoughts on 'what and why' appears here.
I don't believe one should simply post the glossy 'all going good' stuff. For me, the problems and screw-ups should also be noted—and there's plenty of 'em in what I do.
My other reason for 'going personal' is that it's an aid to forming relationships… not the typical casual ones (for which much of what's here would lead readers to consider me a nincompoop), but those which are better/stronger (for which what's here helps build trust).
So yeah… 'I show my workings'.
Additionally, publishing publicly rather than privately and including emotions and struggles, can have various other benefits for the writer: apparently 'boosting self-awareness, clarity, confidence, and emotional regulation, helping to process experiences, improving relationships, and reducing anxiety'.
So… 'now we all know'… I try to be as authentic, raw, and open as I can.
