Think potential.

(6 minute read.)

'Vision is the art of seeing the invisible.'

Change for many has a certain level of fear attached to it. In just changing our way of thinking or the way we do things, we may lose friends in the process because they don't agree with the changes we make.

The old saying that ignorance is bliss can cost us our life. Sometimes a change can save our lives, although it may take all our strength within to do so. But we have to 'see' it before we can do it.

See what others choose not to see out of conformity. It can be difficult to buck the tide. To go against the norm or an entrenched belief takes conviction and courage.

'Greatest minds' have often been non-conformist. There's countless examples of good people who refused to conform to the rules or the established tradition of their day. Many have been ridiculed and killed for their beliefs. Subsequently their wisdom became clear as we grew into things of which they'd spoken years back.

See what others choose not to see out of laziness. See the whole world anew each day. We have so little time in this world. And so many demands upon it… work, family, social. Often we've no energy left for ourselves much less our fellows.

Learning new concepts often requires study on our part. Time and effort is involved. Getting to know someone on a deeper level also takes time and effort. So does stopping our hectic lives and giving of ourselves to others.

Let's not allow laziness to prevent us from the joys that come from fresh knowledge, a new friendship, or the effort it takes to maintain an old one.

Sometimes it even takes effort to see the world anew each day. With so much heartache around us it may take great effort to see the world in a more positive light. It's so much easier to give in to the negative—and far more rewarding to see the positive in ourselves others and in the world around us.

We don't have to be hailed as great men to 'see what others choose not to see'. We can apply that principle in our daily lives. As we deal with family, friends, workmates and strangers, we can make the effort to look beyond the surface. Beyond their clothing, their actions, their exterior emotions, to see that underneath it all may lie a person with great depth… or in great pain from life's experiences… perhaps someone who may need direction in life and would respond to kindness.

Let's dig beneath the surface, understand the complex, see what others choose not to see, master our fears, extend our comfort level, widen our love for others, energize our motivation, act on a positive feeling and new truths.

See the whole world anew each day. As Gandhi said: 'We must be the change we wish to see in the world.'

Anyway, that's the expanded outline, which I figure is well-worth a mention here.

This concept of 'think potential' has certainly been of value to me in helping to 'shift mindsets' throughout my life and commercial activity.

(And yes, I do regret selling the dotcom domain—oh well. It's not the first mistake I've made, and unless I die in the next minute-and-a-half I very much doubt it'll be the last either.)
